This page explains how to delete your Journal Ninja account and all associated data, in line with the Apple App Store and Google Play requirements for account deletion.
Delete from inside the app (recommended)
- Open Journal Ninja and sign in.
- Go to Settings → Privacy & Security.
- Tap Delete my account.
- Confirm. Your account and all data are permanently and irreversibly removed.
Want a copy first? Before deleting, you can export everything from Settings → Privacy & Security → Export my data. It downloads a full copy of your account and content as a file.
Delete by email request
If you can't access the app, email support@journalninja.com from the email address linked to your account with the subject "Delete my account." We only confirm that the request comes from the account holder. We do not access or review any of your content. Once confirmed, your account and all data are permanently deleted.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account, we permanently remove all of the following from our systems:
- Your profile (display name, email, age band, and settings).
- All journal entries, moods, and tags.
- All goals and milestones.
- All daily missions and weekly reviews.
- All AI reflections, The Mirror analyses, Future You letters, and chat history.
- Any voice-transcription text you saved (recordings themselves are never retained).
What may be retained, and for how long
Deletion is immediate and complete. We do not keep your content after deletion. Where the law requires us to retain limited records (for example, basic transaction records for tax or fraud-prevention purposes), those are held only as long as legally required and are not used for any other purpose. AI-provider requests are not stored by us and are not used to train third-party models.
Parental requests
A parent or guardian may request deletion of a minor's (13–17) data at any time by contacting support@journalninja.com.
